The Process

Illustration of a happy brain with lightning bolts indicating energy or excitement.

Pre-production

We’ll plan a practical shoot that matches your needs: how many images you’d like, your budget, the schedule, and the steps to keep the shoot day running smoothly.
I’ll also send the contract terms for you to review and agree to before the shoot, along with a 50% deposit invoice that must be paid in advance.
If possible, I recommend a quick meet-and-greet and walkthrough before shoot day. This helps decide which rooms to photograph and the best times of day for each.

Shoot Day

My assistant and I will arrive at the agreed time and have a quick walk through the space and decide which room will work best in photographing first.
I will then set up my equipment and go from there. Some shots take a lot of planning which means we may have to move furniture and tweak styling where necessary. This may include bringing in our own smaller styling pieces or floral arrangements to enhance the space.

Post-Production

This stage is where all the creative planning and images from shoot day come together. Editing a set of images will take anywhere between 5 - 7 days to complete.
As I take a lot of shots on the day, only the best images will be selected and then edited.
Editing includes exposure and contrast fixes, removing distractions, correcting colours, and using advanced Photoshop techniques to create a dramatic yet natural look.

Delivery of images

When editing is finished I’ll send a link to view your images. Choose your favourites and the number you were quoted. Any extra images beyond that will be charged per image.
After you’ve made your selections, I will send you the final invoice. Once paid I’ll send a download link for the high-resolution and web-size files.

How we like to work

Each job is different, but we usually start early in the morning and stay until late afternoon or twilight. We shoot in the morning, a short break at midday, then continue to shoot in the afternoon. This gives us the best light for bright, standout photos.
My assistant and I love to have a friendly chat on arrival but need to get quickly into the zone. Our best work is done with minimal distractions on shoot day. This allows us to get the whole job done on time and work efficiently.
